For the European consciousness in the culture of Japan, many strange and utterly incomprehensible. In no other country traditions, technologies and the living conditions are not so intricately intertwined. Samurai ideals perfectly coexist with computers of the last generation, and centenarians born in the 19th century – with teenagers dressed as Pokemon. Despite the striking development of all, with regard to technology, Japanese culture is one of the most conservative, closed and incomprehensible to foreigners.

Below you will find six of the most bizarre aspects of the culture of “land of the rising sun”.

A hikikomori

The hikikomori are young people who do not wish to communicate with the outside world. Of course, in every culture, there are a small number of people, who are called “hermits”, but this is usually older or even elderly, many of whom suffer from mental disorders such as depression or agoraphobia.

The Japanese feature of “hermits” – age. It’s either teenagers or young people are slightly over twenty, which is almost completely cut off from the outside world. There are several objective reasons for the emergence of a huge number of hikikomori: the first, of course is the Internet, the second monstrous load in educational institutions, which few can withstand, and, finally, loving parents who are willing to support their offspring until old age, if only they flew out of the nest.

The term is usually referred to as the hikikomori, young people who had been in my room without work and communication more than six months. Psychologists talk of a “lost millions”.

Crime

Although legends of the Yakuza, the crime rate in Japan one of the lowest (below only in Monaco). All weapons – from pistols to ceremonial swords, be sure to register with the police.

However, if you really were in the dock – down the drain. 99 percent of the courts end in conviction. In addition, Japan is still sentenced to death, usually by hanging. Executed in a year of 2-3 people, and about the upcoming execution the condemned informed just hours. Family is informed of the execution already accomplished.

Attitude to work

The Japanese are really drinking a lot; at corporate sake is flowing and the officers vainly trying to keep up with their hardened years of training bosses.

But what is really surprising is how many Japanese did not drink in the evening, in the morning it will be as a cucumber and will get to work on time. In addition, in Japanese culture it is considered perfectly normal to take a NAP in the workplace, it is even encouraged. It is believed that the man who bowed their head to the desktop, working to exhaustion and is particularly dedicated.

Kodokushi

The phenomenon Kodokushi (solitary death) – this is the silhouette of the body of a deceased person. It is formed when the body for a long time remains undetected.

Workers who are engaged in transportation of furniture, say they often encounter such “kodokushi”. According to the estimates of the private companies, about 300 of the 1,500 cases they stumble upon these sad symbols of human loneliness.

Traditional Japanese family, when under the same roof get along several generations, is outdated, and now the elderly more often live alone.

This also happens with temporary workers, or contract employees – many men and women in this category of the workforce never marry and not marry. They die alone, and nobody knows about their death.

Japanese manners are always distinguished by rigour, including in relation to “adult films”. And though the ban on to shoot hardcore porn in Japan does not exist, the genitals in the video have to be blurred to be consistent with national perceptions of morality.

This relaxed version of the Japanese porn is complemented by the so-called “bukkake” – demonstration of the resulting liquid as a proof that I really was “act of love”.

Interestingly, a huge number of young Japanese do not show any interest in sex, especially guys. They are called “soshoku danshi” or “vegetarians”.
